out of sync | short film | 2026

Out of Sync is a spatial film exploring the emotional realities of unpaid dementia caregiving. Through fragmented moving image, layered voices, and sound, the work translates experiences of repetition, uncertainty, emotional strain, and invisible labour into an immersive audiovisual encounter. Built from caregiver interviews and lived experiences, the film invites audiences to pause inside a condition that is often unseen, asking how we might begin to understand caregiving before living it ourselves.

Invisible | moving image | 2025

Invisible is a moving image work developed from stories shared by unpaid caregivers of loved ones living with dementia. The film follows a woman balancing caregiving alongside motherhood, a newborn child, and the responsibilities of running a business. Gradually fading beneath the weight of these overlapping roles, she is left with almost no time for herself, only a quiet moment to drink a cup of tea. Through layered sonic elements, the work also reflects the constant thoughts, emotional pressure, and invisible responsibilities that shape her everyday life.

Caring about Care

Caring about Care | practice research | 2026

Caring about Care brings together interviews, reflections, visual mapping, and early practice outcomes developed through my research into unpaid dementia caregiving. Shaped by conversations with caregivers and witnesses across different cultural backgrounds, the work explores emotional strain, invisibility, uncertainty, repetition, and the shifting realities of care. Rather than presenting fixed answers, this research documents an ongoing process of listening, observing, and translating lived experiences into moving image and immersive storytelling.
